Classic Cars Seem to Be Elder Hyde's Contacting Cue

So, I ask Elder Hyde to send photos and this is what I get. That guy!

Elder Chapman and I are going back to Granada Hills.I, as of right now, I know I will be in GH for 6 months. Haha how long were you here mom? We are going to have fun this transfer and it is going to be pretty good to be back on bike, I guess.

This week has been pretty good, from crazy people to scavenging to exchanges to lessons to breakups and make ups so hold on to your hats we are going down.

So to start off we played Frisbee on Monday, and was a beast, moving on now.

We taught a man on Thursday, (side note he has a 67 Mustang that was the reason I wanted to knock the house) it was a great lesson. We tried to help with the questions he had but we still need to study them out more. We have a lesson set up for this week.


We have a lesson on Tuesday with a man name Loren, the reason I knocked on his house was the 1973 Chevelle, so yeah I'm going to knock on doors that have old cars in front of them so yeah cool. He has been reading from the Book of Mormon so it's going to be a good lesson.

We had a lesson with an investigator who is in a wheelchair. He has a few problems and is very attached to the sisters. So it felt like a break up when they passed him off to us so yeah. He was explaining trust, he had Sister Vanhoven and I stand up, and then he had Sister Vanhoven do a trust fall. So this week I had a Sister fall into my arms because she trusted me haha, ok it was more like she leaned back four inches, I then caught and pushed and sat back down it was hilarious so yeah.

I have gained much Disney stuff from Jack Vizzard. His wife worked for the Disney store for 25 years, and she passed away last year so he is selling and giving away like all of it and since I am a scrounger, I have got a lot.

We go and knock doors and knock more doors and knock more doors and talk to people on the street. We have 1 investigator his name is Yan he is Indonesian and Buddhist. But is Buddhist because it answers why we are born into different situations. Because yeah, he has those questions but he went to catholic school for 12 years and yeah he is interesting. Then we are going to get another investigator tomorrow so we are going to have a busy week this week.

We were at church from 700 to 12 yesterday it was fun. Wow 7 perspective elders. That is good we have maybe 1, and we have no priests in the ward and the oldest is 14 so yeah it's going to be a while until they have priests

We haven't had rain in like 8 weeks so it is a drought. SoCal is getting hot

We just "keep swimming" and having a good time and we have zone conference this week so Yeah it is going to be an awesome week!

Q&A from January 6, 2014

What do you do with your days? It seems Northridge is more productive.
We do lots of finding. Yes Northridge is more productive, it is weird we will cross the boundary in between the two and in GH nothing, then Northridge poof people listen more, it is weird.  we have 3 investigators. Marcus and Brianna, Marcus has cancer and starts Chemo today, so we hope to be able to see him and give him a blessing like he asked but he never answered his door, so we haven't been able to. And then Father Hanz, he is a Catholic Priest that believes in the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith and wears a CTR ring, also he has Dementia or Alzheimer’s so yeah it is interesting. We are hoping to teach a mom and son tonight that we met last night while the mom was smoking. Yeah, we hope it goes well. Her name is Jenny, we haven't met her son yet. She asked if he was allowed to come as well and we said yes, yes he can, haha.
Do you check your mail over at the Granada Hills apartment as well?
Yes we still do check it there.
You said you spoke in church, what did you speak about?
I spoke about a Christ centered life. It was fine.
I too believe that my Father needs said bikes and I can testify of the blessing that he and his family shall receive from this, so Will you Mother Allow Father to purchase these much need Motorcycles and you will receive more blessing than you can hold?
Does your car have a CD player, can you use it? Who usually drives?
Yes we have a CD player; it is a 2014 Chevy Cruze. Haha. Yes we are allowed to listen to music. Elder Ford drives, unless on exchanges then either Elder Chapman or I would drive but the only exchange I went on was to the bike area.... yay.
How many missionaries are in your district?
There are 13 missionaries, usually 14, but we are a trio so yeah. There are like 26 or 27 missionaries in the zone.
What do you do on your P-day?
Sometimes we play basketball sometime we don't so yeah. That’s about it. Preparation day is really short actually. I really enjoy DC 6:34, “Therefore, fear not, little flock; do good; let earth and hell combine against you, for if ye are built upon my rock, they cannot prevail.” I saw it and it is true that we need not fear for he is with us. If I ever become a District Leader I shall share that with my district after every District meeting hahah.

So now they are doing a biopsy today and then seeing from there. We gave him and Brianna a blessing and then had a lesson last Wednesday but now it is going to be harder. I really like JFS book too. Sorry this is short because I am giving up some of my Preparation day to go on exchanges to let a missionary who got a concussion’s companion email. So I’m going to stay with the companion who has the concussion because he can’t leave the apartment. So yeah I love you.  Bye Mom
