A Letter from Mission Mom Hall - 29 New Missionaries Arrive!

Hooray! It is (well, was) New Missionary Day!  Also known as stress-city.  Not so much stress for us, but for the missionaries who probably didn’t sleep well last night, got up super early and flew here, collected most of their luggage (don’t worry we got it all on the next flight) and then paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork.  Whew!

This looks to be a great group.  It was fun to meet them at the airport and chat a bit during all the hustle and bustle of the day.  Along with the paperwork was a chance to meet for a quick interview with President Hall and be a part of miracles.  We pair up the new missionaries with some awesome old missionaries and send them out to find people to teach.  Today we passed out copies of The Book of Mormon, taught lessons, felt the spirit found families interested in the gospel.  It was awesome.  (I blogged about incoming missionaries here, http://kenanddi.blogspot.com/2013/05/incomings.html if you are interested.  It’s mostly the same except we ate dinner at the stake center since it was such a big group)

We finished up around 8 and sent everyone off for an early bedtime to prepare for tomorrow’s Transfer Meeting where they will meet their companion/trainer and head off to their area to bless lives and change eternities.

We are so excited to have them here!  We know the Lord will bless them as they labor in His kingdom.

Love,
Sister Hall

Only one P-day in the MTC

Well, we have so much fun here. We are gonna be flying out Monday, July 29 at 11:00am. It is going to be great. I can,t wait to go. I am learning a lot of stuff here but i am ready to get out in the field. Not that i am really ready to be in the field but I'm ready to be out of the MTC. I love it here but 6 hours of sitting is getting really boring. Today was my first P-day. I have never been so excited to do laundry in my life. We have had gym only four times here, it was great. My companion can jump, its crazy.
We gave blessing the second night to almost everyone. I got one and gave one, it was great. The Spirit was so strong it was amazing and just the way we all are able to give them is great.
I read a book by Jon Bytheway we found in our room it was really good, haha, the things you find in the rooms. So there are these holes in the back of the wardrobes that we call Narnia holes that old missionaries leave food and stuff in there for the next missionaries that use the room. So Mom, all that candy that you sent me will be going to a good home so don't worry. We also bequeath many things to the noobies or greenies that came in yesterday. It was great and I came up with a great song for my camera since I don't have a case for it. I throw it into an old sock and I call the song, "sock camera." It goes like this, SOCK CAMERA!!!! CAMERA IN A SOCK!!!!!! It is to the music of Transformers so, Transformers robots in disguise so yeah its pretty awesome. We had a Tuesday night devotional. It was by Elder John K. Carmack of the 70. But yeah, hadn't heard of him. But it was pretty awesome and yes Mother, I did do choir :) We sang Praise to the Man and the choir director taught us some interesting stuff about W.W. Phelps. But yeah, so it was fun and he talked about how important obedience is. And to work to the very end of the day even if it is raining and is only 30 mins before you should go home, but work to the end always be obedient. I won't have another P-day until next Monday. Not this up coming Monday but the one after that so yeah won't be getting email for awhile :) but love you every body
