Newhall Adventures

Cisco and his family are doing alright, The daughter Abby is our only ray of light right now because she is just progressing so great and she just wants this. Junior is coming along, but hey, he's 12.He hasn't had this before so he is coming but slowly, and Cisco, Cisco is having a hard time it seems like everything that could happen... Is. So keep them in your prayers they really need them right now. He wants to learn but cant because he works so much the only time he stops he sleeps because he doesn't have any other time to do anything.

It was so hard at the beginning of this transfer. Before I had got here, my last lesson was Jan 5th. So yeah we had like 3 the first day and then another like 2 the next day, got thrown right in to the gauntlet, I hit the ground running, well more like a fast lumber and a hobble. So this week we have taught a few people, but that isn't what I'm gonna talk about. On Sunday, the Korean elders talked to a guy who was kind of crazy near our area and the Sisters in the district's areas. They called to warn us and gave a description and some of the stuff he would talk about, so we were watching out for a 6'2" white guy....... so I told the Sisters, it was ok to still talk to This(me) tall crazy white guy but not that one. So on Monday night we are biking home, and we are about to pass a guy, and I had a feeling of we should kind of pass. But also I sometimes get the horse smells the barn syndrome. So I thought, "no we should stop and talk to the guy." We start talking and we are talking some more. But for some reason the Spirit doesn't seem to be there and we can't get a discussion going on anything really about what we share. Some of my other little flags are going off. Elder M. is one the best Missionaries I have ever served with, but he gets tunnel vision on trying to share the gospel and what the person is telling him. (he said how to put that so I'm not bashing him) He doesn't look at how the situation feels or what the kind of vibe is or I guess reading the person. So I started to hear a lot of the things the Korean elders told us the guy says and just the read I got from him. The funny thing is that the Korean elders got the description wrong. He was a 5"10- 11" very light skinned Hispanic man that spoke both English and Spanish. He had grayish hair not brown, he had gray eyes, with no light in them, just nothing so that was one thing that was one of the biggest red flags. I'm glad that I was able to finally understand what the Spirit was telling me. It kind of, in a short way, said leave. So I wrapped up the conversation, made sure that Elder M didn't give him our phone number, and finished. When we got home I wrote down my observations of him so we could tell the Sisters. We are pretty sure he is Schizophrenic, with anger management problems, as well as paranoia. He could calm himself down in half a second, it was not right he would turn off. I haven't seen anything like it. Point of sharing this, A: cool story B: it is good to know I still can read people and haven't been blocked completely by missionary brain C: I am thankful for the Spirit. I am thankful for the gospel that has protected me from things in life so I didn't do things that lead to having problems I have seen here in Cali. I am thankful for Pops teaching me how to handle problems and situations. I am also thankful for my stupid Psych class in high school so I could know signs of stuff and be safe, and also I'm thankful for the way I am because I get distracted easy but also I notice my surrounding more than others and I notice little things and remember things well. Also, Cali's got Crazies! So we go and try and help.

Now more uplifting things, we went to the temple today for my birthday, hahah, my rain check from back in August. President said we could use it so we did and it was wonderful. I love being out on my mission.
